Opportunity Bank, Montenegro, was formally licensed by the Central Bank of Montenegro on 23rd April, 2002, and became operational on 29th May, 2002.
Opportunity Bank is Opportunity International's first fully licensed bank in the region and has grown out of the strong foundation of the NGO Microcredit Montenegro (MCM). MCM grew rapidly into a highly successful microfinance institution, making nearly ten thousand loans worth over US$14.5 million to small businesses from July 1999 through to June 2002.
Today Opportunity Bank offers a wide range of banking services including loans, deposits, SWIFT international transactions, domestic payments and other operational products.

That's the reason the Bank developed a special credit line with favourable terms and simple procedures for making available loan funds to meet the needs of agriculture producers.
In the past entrepreneurs and small enterprises did not have access to high quality loans. The essence of Opportunity Bank's operation is to support the development of entrepreneurship and small enterprises, which represent the most vital sector of the Montenegrin economy.
