OTP banka (before Nova banka) is the seventh bank on the Croatian banking market, with total assets amounting to 8.07 billion kuna and over 700 million kuna capital. Operating through a wide network of 90 branch offices throughout Croatia bank's 1.000 employees serve more than 300.000 clients in retail and corporate sector. The bank's headquarters are located in Zadar, while business centers are located in Zagreb, Pula, Split, Sisak and Dubrovnik.
Half year since the arrival of the new majority owner, OTP bank, the largest Hungarian bank, Nova banka changes name into OTP banka. Nova banka was established in 2002 following the merger of three regional banks - Dalmatinska, Istarska and Sisačka banka. By merging Dubrovačka banka in October 2004 the process of legal and operational merger was completed and a stable and profitable banking institution was established. The merger of the four regional banks into Nova banka was one of the most complex and challenging private operations of consolidation and restructuring ever on the Croatian banking market. Since it was established the bank has been successfully adapting to dynamic changes on the market, recording always better business results and strengthening its position. In March 2005, the majority owner of the bank became OTP bank, the strongest Hungarian bank, which, besides in Hungary, also operates in Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania and, starting this year, also in Croatia as well.
