ProCredit Bank Romania (PCBR) is a specialist microfinance bank established in 2002 with the support of EBRD to provide financial services to micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Romania. PCBR disbursed almost 90,000 loans to Romanian MSEs for amount of over EUR 520 million.

In Romania, ProCredit Bank was established in 2002 (first by the name The Microfinancing Bank MIRO S.A.) and it is the result of a partnership between internationally-known financial institutions, such as: BERD, IFC - Member of the World Bank Group, Commerzbank, DEG, ProCredit Holding (German investment company), and IPC. This unique structure of shareholders gives the bank stability and professional management, thus setting the premises for a dynamic evolution of ProCredit Bank on the Romanian market.

Mission Statement

ProCredit Bank is a development-oriented full-service bank. They offer excellent customer service and a wide range of banking products. In their credit operations, they focus on lending to very small, small and medium-sized enterprises, as they are convinced that these businesses create the largest number of jobs and make a vital contribution to the economies in which they operate.

Unlike other banks, their bank does not promote consumer loans. Instead they focus on responsible banking by building a savings culture and long-term partnership with their customers.
